One rainy day this month, Aunt Betsy and mom took Alex and Lauren to the aquarium and Nickelodeon Universe to ride on some rides. They kids had a fantastic day and so did mom and Aunt Betsy. It was a whole day but it did remind me why I tend to avoid those places on weekends – crazy busy. But it didn’t even faze the kids. It was a very nice way to spend a rainy Sunday.

We love summer!
We just love summer! We spend every day outside visiting different parks with our friends, going to the zoo, swimming, running through sprinklers, riding bikes, and coloring the driveway with sidewalk chalk. The other day mom even got creative and gave Alex and Lauren paint brushes with a bucket of water and they “painted” the windows. It was great and literally, they were so content for 1.5 hours! It was wonderful!! We've had quite a few picnics with our friends too and lots of playdates. We’ve been spending some time up at Nana and Grandpa Vohs’ house and Gaga and Papa O’Brien have been here a couple times this summer too. The kids love hanging out with their grandparents!! It's been a great summer thus far and next week, Alex starts his summer camp 2 mornings a week for the month of July. It's a "Superhero and Princess" camp and he can't wait! That'll give mom some time with our own little Princess Lauren while Alex is having fun at camp, which will be good too.

Lauren's 2nd birthday party
Well I realize that this happened a month ago, but I’m trying to catch up! We had a great birthday party with our families at our house. Aunt Jen made a Care Bears-themed cake, which Lauren thought was fantastic. It was a really nice day and the kids both enjoyed celebrating Lauren’s birthday a lot. I say the kids enjoyed it because Alex even got some presents too and he “helped” Lauren open more than his fair share of her presents too. And he loved playing with her new toys. All in all though, it was a great day and now Alex keeps asking when his birthday is. He thinks that 2 months away is way too long and we should have his party early this year. Always a negotiator!
